Museum of Heritage Utensils
The Institute has a good collection of old household utensils which were being used by different people in different parts of our country, especially from Madurai,Tirunelveli,Tanjore,Karaikudi and many places from TamilNadu,and also from Varanasi,Jabalpur, Lucknow, Allahabad, Jammu & Kashmir and abroad. They belong to the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. These collections have been contributed by the friends, relatives, volunteers and students living in different parts of India. This has been maintained in order to inculcate among students pride and love for heritage of India. This Museum is being recognized by the Central Government as one of the RECREATIONAL FACILITIES Students engage themselves in various indoor and outdoor games like Chess, Carom, Table Tennis, Football, Volleyball, Cricket, Hockey, etc., They have also participated in various inter-collegiate competitions.
Carpadium Magazine
As part of the cultural activities a house magazine was started by the college called "CARPADIUM” Which means “SEIZE THE DAY". This is a quarterly magazine where student’s talents in writing stories, poems, quiz, jokes, puzzles, etc., are given more importance |
Cultural Programme
The Institute conducts cultural programmes every year for the students to exhibit their talent in various programmes like singing, dancing fashion shows, short plays, dramas, etc. They also participate in the cultural programmes conducted by other colleges.
Food Festivals
The students have conducted a variety of Theme Food Festivals inviting various Hoteliers and Catering Institutes, where the student’s talent were brought out.
Earn while you learn
The Institute has tie-ups with the Hotels for organizing paid-internship during evenings and weekends where the students gain knowledge and rich experience.
Educational Visit
The Institute organizes Educational Tour to various places of Tourism importance in our Country. Field trips are arranged to visit Hotels, Breweries, Resorts, etc. This inculcates in the students a team spirit and creates in them a spirit of enjoyment,adjustment and togetherness
Festivals
The college takes pride in celebrating various festivals like Onam, Ayudha Pooja, Diwali, Christmas, Pongal, Ramzan, etc., to inculcate in the students unity, respect for other religions and to preserve the traditions of our culture. The students are exposed to various types of Cuisines, Culture and Traditions followed in various parts of our Country |
